About Sport & Recreation
Supporting sport, recreation and active communities across Murray Bridge
Sport and recreation play an important role in making the Rural City of Murray Bridge a healthy, active, inclusive and connected place to live.
Council's Sport & Recreation team works alongside local sporting clubs, associations, volunteers, community organisations, State Sporting Organisations and other partners to strengthen sport and recreation opportunities across our community.
Our role extends beyond facilities and sporting grounds. We work to support the people, clubs and organisations that make community sport possible while creating opportunities for more members of our community to participate.
Working With Our Sporting Community
Council recognises that local sporting clubs and associations are largely driven by volunteers who contribute significant time and effort to their communities.
We aim to proactively build strong partnerships with sporting clubs, providing ongoing support and identifying opportunities to strengthen sport and recreation across our community.
We encourage sporting organisations to keep Council informed about their current priorities, participation trends, challenges, future plans and facility needs. Early conversations can help identify potential opportunities, partnerships, funding sources and other support.
