Murray Bridge is poised for significant population growth and Council's key strategic documents outline the long term direction for this growth and development. The growth of Murray Bridge will be in line with the 30-Year Plan for Greater Adelaide and the Murray Mallee Region Plan.
In addition to these plans, Council has prepared a number of other strategic planning documents to guide growth in the Council area. These include the Murray Bridge Structure Plan and The Rural Communities Study. The Structure Plans presents an integrated and comprehensive guide to manage growth. It does this by identifying key growth areas and the infrastructure required to support new development.
The Rural Communities Study provides plans for Callington, Jervois, Monarto, Wellington, Woodlane, Monteith, Mypolonga and Woods Point to identify actions that Council can undertake to support their ongoing sustainability. All strategic documents have informed the Development Plan Review process and assist in identifying future Development Plan Amendments.
Council's Key Strategic Documents (in terms of future planning) are:
- The Murray Bridge Structure Plan, and,
- The Murray Bridge Rural Communities Study Part 1
- The Murray Bridge Rural Communities Study Part 2
