The Station | Murray Bridge Youth Hub

The Station is a warm, safe and inviting place for youth in the Murray Bridge district to utilise. It is a hub for activities, programs and events that support young people aged 12-25 with a focus on skill development, personal wellbeing and community involvement.

The Station provides young people a wide range of opportunities, and there really is something for everyone:

A large acoustically treated auditorium and stage, perfect for live music or theatre productions. It has been recently retro fitted making it one of the best venues in the region.

Two state of the art recording studios where young people can use to rehearse or record their music.

We host regular youth events throughout the year, including Acoustic Sessions, Battle of the Bands, Rhyme, Grind & Climb, Youth Art Prize and multiple SPL Skate Park Competitions.

And so much more!

Regular Programs

Do you play an instrument or sing? Have you ever wanted to join a band but didn’t know where to start? Then Band Connections is for you!

Come down to The Station every Wednesday (during school term) from 4pm-6pm to perform on stage in a band with other young musos. Participants are mentored by industry professional musicians from Music SA, who will help who will help you learn and grow your singing or instrumental skills.

With access to top of the range equipment and opportunities throughout the year to perform at live shows, this is the perfect program to hang out with other young musos.

Do you enjoy making beats, Djing, rapping or writing lyrics? Have you ever wanted to gain a better understanding of the Hip Hop culture? Then check out Hip Hop Connect!

Run at The Station every Tuesday (during school terms) from 4pm-6pm, it is an opportunity for local Hip Hop legends to hang out and collab.

Participants have access to premium recording studios where they can record for free. Equipment for DJing & music production is provided.

Be supported by industry professionals to develop your craft and release your music independently. Opportunities for sound engineering, photography and more are available upon request.

This is a safe space for all creatives, poets, music makers & artists.

During the school holidays, The Station hosts additional workshops and programs for young people in the community. Previous school holidays programs have included:

  • Aerosol Art - learn how to create art with aerosol cans in a fun and safe space. The workshops provide an opportunity for young painters to develop their art skills as well as collaborate & socialise with those around them
  • Recording/Mixing Workshops – based in our two premium recording studios, gain a better understanding of what is takes to release your tracks out into the world and record your songs

Our Spaces

Young people from the Murray Bridge area are highly are encouraged to utilise The Station space provided for them by council. The Station is FREE for local youth aged 12-25 to use and for youth services who deliver positive programs and activities in the area. Check out our spaces below:

A premium location to record your vocals or make some beats

Equipped with drum kit, bass and guitar amps and a vocal PA. The perfect place to practice your skills before a gig.

A meeting space with TV, tables and couches, suitable for up to 15 people, ideal for small workshops and meetings.

A large acoustically treated auditorium and stage with state of the art lighting and sound. The space also includes pool table, table tennis and desktop computers

Kitchen facilities including fridge, oven, stove, microwave, coffee machine and café table and chairs

A collaboration between The Station and our collocated service Youth Options and their 'construction crew'. Explore our amazing sensory garden filled with native and edible plants.

Youth Options – we help young people to build their capacity to set and achieve their goals for a thriving future. We do this by nurturing trusted partnerships to help each person overcome their barriers, realise their own potential and access the tools and support they need to explore and shape the future they imagine.

L2P – A Murraylands community based volunteer program geared towards youth who do not have access to a vehicle or supervisory driver on an ongoing basis to complete the graduated learning system of moving from a learners Permit to a Probationary License.
