Wharf Precinct Works April 2026

You may notice some changes occurring soon within the Wharf Precinct, including the temporary relocation of the train carriages.

These works form part of Council’s adopted 2025/26 Annual Business Plan and Budget under the Capital Renewal Program and will include road resurfacing, footpath reconstruction and minor stormwater upgrades.

The works are required to improve drainage and renew key infrastructure within the precinct, while also supporting future plans aligned with Council’s Sturt Reserve Master Plan.

To enable these upgrades to be undertaken safely and efficiently, the train carriages will be temporarily relocated. The Rural City of Murray Bridge currently has care and control of the carriages and while they are not heritage listed, Council acknowledges there is strong community interest in their future.

Council will continue to provide updates as the works progress and appreciates the community’s understanding while these important improvements are carried out.
