Murray Bridge Dementia Friendly Group
This group meets quarterly – February, May, August and November – at the Murray Bridge Library and is attended by people living with dementia, their carers, aged care providers and allies who want to increase community awareness and support for those living with dementia. Dementia is now the leading cause of death in Australia and according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics in 2021 one percent of people in Murray Bridge are living with dementia. For resources you can contact the Murray Bridge Library Memory Hub. Support is also available through - Dementia Australia.

The Memory Hub
The Memory Hub is a specially curated, borrowable collection designed to support people living with dementia, memory loss, or cognitive impairment — along with their families and carers.
This collection offers a range of engaging and supportive resources, including large-format puzzles, retro and familiar games, memory books, fiddle mats, sensory items such as music boxes, and classic films that help spark memories of the past. You’ll also find helpful books focused on caregiving, brain health, and ways to stay mentally active.
The Memory Hub promotes connection, comfort, and meaningful engagement, helping individuals experiencing memory loss continue to live enriching and fulfilling lives.
Items can be borrowed just like a book for up to four weeks with an adult library card, so you can choose what best suits your needs at home.
If you would like more information on The Memory Hub, please contact the Murray Bridge Library on 08 8539 1175.
