PIRSA have appointed Barb Cowey Barbara-ann.Cowey@sa.gov.au, M: 0488 951 790 as a localised drought support person.
Barb’s role includes:
- Implementation of local supports
- Ensuring the regional needs are met through state policy
- Source localised solution
- Coordinate and understand regional intelligence
- Provide drought response updates to local regional groups
- Councils
- NRM
- Local service industries
- Local business associations
- Work across all levels of Government to provide seamless supports
- Talk with local business and farming groups to link into service provision

We have 3 Farm and Business Mentors within the Murraylands who provide support to anyone in the region who are looking for support and act as a conduit to all services – Local, State and Commonwealth.

Connecting with People Program – State Government is providing training through the Connecting with People program that is open to everyone in the Region who also acts as an incidental Counsellor. Further information can be obtained from Barb Cowey

Provides also expanding services constantly to meet the needs of business and farming communities these services have included business financial literacy training, commonwealth assistance programs and one on one support
