An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Rural City of Murray Bridge for a suitably qualified person to join our WHS & Risk Team in senior role as the Team Leader – WHS & Risk Management.

Position Overview

The Team Leader WHS & Risk Management will oversee the management, planning, and implementation of workplace health and safety and risk management initiatives within the organisation.

As a key advocate for workplace health and safety, you will prioritise enhancing awareness, identifying risks and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and safe workplace practices.

You will play a vital role in ensuring that our operations meet the highest standards of compliance to legislation, policy and procedures, through advice, coaching, monitoring and reporting.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in Risk Management, Work Health and Safety or Business Administration or equivalent experience are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager Corporate Services, responsibilities include:

  • Deliver a rolling internal audit plan including assessment and reporting of actions.
  • Provide operational advice on risk management and assurance.
  • Oversee delivery of Council’s WHS program including ensuring systems and processes for meet legislative obligations and reflect industry best practices.
  • Development of WHS and risk management frameworks, policies and associated documents.

The position is offered as a full time, two year contract in accordance with the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers Award and Council’s current Enterprise Agreement within an annual salary range of $111,515 to $118,390 dependent upon skills, knowledge and experience.
