Council stands with community to Shout NO! to family and domestic violence
The Rural City of Murray Bridge is standing with the community to Shout NO! to family and domestic violence as part of the global 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign.
The annual Shout NO! event will be held on Friday 28 November 2025 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Place of Courage on Sturt Reserve. The event brings together students, local service providers and community members to take a united stand against family and domestic abuse.
Hosted by the Murray Bridge Domestic Violence Awareness Group and supported by the Murray Bridge Regional Collaboration on Violence Against Women and Children, Mobilong Rotary Club and Council, the event will feature guest speakers, a march along the riverfront and back and a community BBQ cooked by the Mobilong Rotary Club.
Shout NO! takes place annually on the last Friday in November as part of the United Nations Women 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign, which runs from 25 November - International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women - to 10 December - International Human Rights Day.
Throughout the 16 Days, Murray Bridge landmarks including the Performing Arts + Function Centre and the Bridgeport Hotel will light up in orange in support of the global Orange the World campaign, which symbolises a future free from violence and discrimination.
Council is committed to supporting initiatives that promote inclusion, safety and wellbeing across the community and encourages residents to attend the event, learn more about local support services and take a visible stand against family and domestic violence.
