International Day of People with Disability Awards Ceremony 2023

These awards recognise the outstanding achievements and contributions of people with disability, along with disability-friendly and accessible businesses, programs and organisations that are doing great things in our community for people with disability.

There are two categories:

  • Individual - for individuals with disability achieving great things.
  • Business/organisation - for businesses, organisations and programs supporting people with disability in our community.

Community members are encouraged to nominate anyone they believe fits the criteria. Winners will be announced at an International Day of People with Disability celebration and awards presentation, where they will receive a voucher and a certificate.

International Day of People with Disability is marked around the world annually on December 3. It aims to increase public awareness, understanding and recognition of people with disability, celebrating their achievements and contributions to society.

Council will mark the day with a community celebration, on Friday 5 December at Sturt Reserve, between 10am – 1.30pm. All are welcome to attend and join in the celebration.
