Murray Bridge to Celebrate National Families Week with Free Community Event
Friday 15 May 2026 – 2:30pm

Following the roaring success of last year’s celebration, the Murray Bridge National Families Week Event is returning on Friday 15 May 2026, at 2:30pm. This free community event will once again bring together local organisations and collaborators to deliver an afternoon of engaging, family friendly activities designed to celebrate and strengthen community connection.

National Families Week, led by Families Australia, is held every May and brings together thousands of people and hundreds of organisations across the country. The week recognises the vital role families play in our lives and encourages people to celebrate with their families, connect with loved ones, and participate in inclusive community activities.

National Families Week coincides with the United Nations International Day of Families on 15 May. This internationally recognised day highlights the importance of families within communities around the world and draws attention to key issues affecting families globally. No matter what family looks like for each individual, this period provides an opportunity to reflect on the strength of family bonds, reconnect with loved ones and embrace activities that bring people together.

The Murray Bridge event will feature free inflatables, face painting and a wide range of craft activities, alongside interactive experiences delivered by local partners. Families will also have opportunities to learn more about the services, programs, and support available throughout the Murray Bridge region.

National Families Week provides an accessible and welcoming opportunity for families to come together, participate in inclusive activities and engage with local organisations that support community wellbeing.

Community members are encouraged to register their interest to assist organisers with planning and to stay informed about updates and developments regarding the event.
