Since opening in March 2023, the Murray Bridge Wellbeing Hub has provided a welcoming space for connection, learning, sharing and personal growth, built on strong community partnerships.

Murray Bridge Wellbeing Hub

Supporting community wellbeing is a key focus of our 2024–2028 Strategic Plan. This initiative reflects Council’s ongoing commitment to working in partnership with governments and service providers to meet the evolving needs of our community.  The Hub is a collaborative project between the Rural City of Murray Bridge, Preventive Health SA and the Murray Bridge Community Centre. Working closely with local residents and service providers, the Hub has delivered a wide range of programs aimed at improving community wellbeing.

Shelley Rose, Project Officer for the Hub, has played a key role in this success. She was instrumental in the delivery of the Murray Bridge Wellbeing Summit in December 2024 and has since been actively implementing outcomes from the summit in her work with the community. This includes initiatives such as a colour run and community BBQ in Homburg Park, designed to foster social connection and promote mental wellbeing.

“Thank you, this program gave me the opportunity to connect with my grandchildren, I am homeless so to be able to share a meal and some social connection with my children and grandchildren is something I couldn’t do without the Wellbeing Hub”

  • A Certificate of Commendation at the 2023 International Day of People with Disability Accessibility Recognition Awards, in partnership with Special Olympics SA
  • The 2024 Walking for Health Award from Walking SA, awarded jointly with The Haven and the Murray Bridge Community Centre

From July 2023 to June 2024, The Hub delivered 23 initiatives in collaboration with 26 partners, reaching over 2,229 attendances.

Looking ahead, the Rural City of Murray Bridge, the Murray Bridge Community Centre and Preventive Health are working together on the sustainability of the Wellbeing Hub acknowledging its importance and positive impact on the local community.
