Celebrating the International Day of People with Disability
The Rural City of Murray Bridge is inviting the community to celebrate the International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) at a free community event on Friday 4 December 2026.
Held in partnership with the Murraylands Disability Alliance, Genuine Support Services Australia and Mission Australia, the event will run from 10am to 1.30pm at the Murray Bridge Rowing Centre, between Wharf Road and Murray Cods Drive.
The event will feature a range of activities for all ages, including face painting, a petting zoo, modified sports, sailing, TADSA adaptive bikes for children and adults living with disability, art activities and rowing. Attendees can also enjoy a quiet and sensory zone, visit the Murray Bridge Library and meet Roary the Readasaurus, and look forward to a special visit from Santa.
The celebration will begin with a Welcome to Country at 10am, followed by activities until 1pm. A free raffle will be drawn at 1pm, with one lucky attendee having the chance to win a $250 voucher sponsored by Care Squad.
Mobilong Rotary Club will provide a free BBQ lunch, and coffee will be available from the Second Beginnings iREACH coffee van.
Recognised worldwide as a United Nations Day, IDPwD promotes awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability. The day provides an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of people with disability and encourage more inclusive communities.
