The Rural City of Murray Bridge is proud to announce the unveiling of a new public art installation, 'Until The Cows Come Home', located at the corner of East Terrace and Olympic Drive in Sturt Reserve.
This project, developed by Willis Projects (Will Cheesman and Laura Wills) with involvement from local Ngarrindjeri artist Kevin Kropinyeri, pays tribute to the region's longstanding farming history. Kevin Kropinyeri’s contribution to the design includes motifs inspired by the river patterns and features the poignant statement, "The River is the lifeline of the land and people”, underscoring the deep connection between the community and its natural environment.
The intimate launch event, which took place on Monday 29 April 2024, was attended by Elected Members, Council staff and key community figures including Mr Ken Wells (President of the Murray Bridge Historical Society) and Mr Robert Thiele (local farmer and community member), who gathered to celebrate the addition of this significant work to the township’s public art collection.
'Until The Cows Come Home' is now open to the public, further enriching the diverse array of public art in Murray Bridge.
