The Rural City of Murray Bridge in partnership with the City of Victor Harbor officially opened the new Fleurieu Study Hub (FSH) on Thursday 19 September, improving access to tertiary education for new, existing and potential Fleurieu Peninsula students.
The new facilities will provide access to Wi-Fi, computers, video conferencing and quiet study areas for the students who wish to study remotely from the Fleurieu – a growing need for many as, the cost-of-living crisis makes commuting or moving away from home more difficult.
Based within the Victor Harbor TAFE Campus the new facility, will also offer a free space to meet with student advisors who can provide advice and support on career pathways, industry experience options, how to enrol, extra support resources and remote study expertise.
The Fleurieu Study Hub will be delivered in in partnership with the successful Murray River Study Hub, which currently helps hundreds of students pursue tertiary education remotely in the Murraylands and Riverland.
The new Hub is part of a $16m announcement from the Australian Government to open 10 new Regional University Study Hubs around Australia this year, bringing university closer to students living in the regions.
Anyone looking to study at the Hub, or seeking information, should visit the website fsh.org.au to fill out an Expression of Interest (EOI) form.
People can also follow the Fleurieu Study Hub online via Facebook and Instagram, or subscribe to the eNews to receive updates.
