The Rural City of Murray Bridge has adopted its 2026-27 Annual Business Plan and Budget.

New Bike Park Set to Transform Sturt Reserve

Sturt Reserve will soon welcome another exciting addition with the construction of the new Murray Bridge Bike Park.  Located adjacent to the existing skate park, the facility will feature a new dirt track facility and will include two tracks with jumps - one beginner and one intermediate level.

Demolition of the established toilet and supplies building will start on Monday, 29 June with construction of the facility expected to kick off in the coming months.

This project forms part of the overarching Sturt Reserve Master Plan that Council adopted back in 2017, and has been made possible thanks to a Community Collaboration Project  model with Council and Spry Civil Construction. Council will invest $230,000 into the construction of the track, while Spry Civil Construction will be providing in- kind support.

Set alongside the existing skate park, Council expects the project will help extend this space as a destination for riders, families and visitors while expanding recreational opportunities for the growing Murray Bridge community.

The new facility will include a dedicated two-zoned bike track, shelter and public seating, creating a welcoming and accessible space for riders of all ages and abilities.

Construction of the project will begin soon, and is expected to be complete in early 2027. Access to the skate park, playground, nearby businesses and sporting venues will remain open during this time.

Important to note, that the demolition work applies only to the older toilet block and supplies building that sits nearby the skate park-end of the reserve, not the main public toilet block near the playground.

There will also be a new shelter and picnic setting added nearby the track, and some landscaping will be included as part of the project.

A concept plan has also been developed, and Council is excited to share this with local riders, and the wider community to help visualise the future space.

Council will share project updates on social media as the work is carried out over the coming 6-8 months.
