The much-loved Native Plant Giveaway is back for 2025 - and this year’s event is bigger than ever.
Locals are invited to collect free native plants grown by biodiversity volunteers on Sunday 4 May from 9am to 1pm at the Community Nursery, located within the Brinkley ReUse Centre.
More than 3000 native plants - grown from locally collected seeds and cuttings - will be available for residents of the Rural City of Murray Bridge. From hardy groundcovers to Eucalyptus trees, these plants have been carefully nurtured to help support local biodiversity, create drought-tolerant gardens and provide habitat for native wildlife.
New to this year’s event is a special Butterfly Plant Pack giveaway, featuring plants that attract and support native butterflies, along with a limited range of Indigenous bush foods endemic to the Murraylands.
The Murray Bridge City Lions Club will be running a sausage sizzle on site, so locals can grab a bite to eat and chat with local volunteers.
Quantities of plants will be allocated per property until stock runs out and proof of residency within the Rural City of Murray Bridge will be required on collection.
