Council is proud to celebrate over 200 volunteers during the National Volunteer Week from 20 - 26 May 2024, with a few volunteers commemorating major milestones for their community service.

In recognition of the annual theme, ‘Something for Everyone’, Council is proud to celebrate the selfless contributions of these volunteers throughout 16 different programs.

Mayor Wayne Thorley highlighted the importance of the service provided by the volunteers in the community.

“We are lucky to have over 200 volunteers in Murray Bridge, they are the backbone of our community and we are grateful for their commitment and contribution.”

“While volunteers don’t look for praise, we would like to use National Volunteer Week to let all volunteers know they are appreciated. We encourage the community to share their gratitude for our volunteers’ efforts in the community.”

There are wide ranges of volunteering options available across Murray Bridge Council. They all help to develop new skills, make friends and feel happier and healthier. While also making a difference in other people’s lives.

As part of its ongoing commitment to the community, Council is currently seeking expressions of interest for volunteers across all its programs.
