The Rural City of Murray Bridge proudly marks National Reconciliation Week from 27 May to 3 June 2026, encouraging inclusive community involvement in the shared journey towards reconciliation.
This year’s theme, ‘All In’, is a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day. It reinforces that reconciliation is not a spectator sport - it requires all of us to step forward, take meaningful action and contribute to lasting change.
Council recognises the importance of reconciliation in strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians, for the benefit of the whole community. In Murray Bridge, this commitment is deeply connected to place - to the Murray River (Murrundi), and to the enduring cultural heritage and history of the Ngarrindjeri people.
We are proud to be a community that is welcoming, diverse and connected. Ngarrindjeri people and many cultures have long called Murray Bridge home, and this shared identity continues to shape a strong and inclusive future.
Throughout the week, National Reconciliation Week provides an opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to engage with reconciliation in meaningful and practical ways - whether through learning, reflection, conversation or action in everyday life.
As we mark National Reconciliation Week, Council encourages individuals, organisations and community groups across the region to be All In - not only during this week, but every day. By listening, learning and taking action together, we can help build a more just, equitable and reconciled future for generations to come.
