Festivities will begin at 5pm with a vibrant line-up of food trucks and entertainment. From 7.30pm, the historic railway bridge will be illuminated ahead of the main attraction – a breathtaking fireworks display lighting up the sky from 9.30pm.

Mayor Wayne Thorley said the celebration reflects Council’s ongoing commitment to activating the riverfront and strengthening community connections.

“Excitement is already building for the New Year’s Eve celebration in Murray Bridge. We are proud to ring in the New Year over our iconic bridge.

Events like this not only bring people together but also support our local economy by attracting visitors to our region and showcasing our businesses, hospitality and vibrant public spaces.”

The Murray Bridge New Year’s Eve celebration aligns with the Rural City of Murray Bridge’s Strategic Plan 2024–2028, which envisions a thriving, connected and prosperous community. The activation of Sturt Reserve and the surrounding riverfront supports key priorities under Thriving Communities and Dynamic Economy by enhancing public spaces, attracting visitors and creating opportunities for local business growth.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable evening, bridge and river closures will be in place during the fireworks. Residents are reminded to keep pets safely secured, as loud noises may cause distress. Dry zone restrictions are in effect across Murray Bridge.
