More than $200,000 Available Through Council's 2026 Grants Program
The Rural City of Murray Bridge has launched its 2026 Grants Program, with more than $200,000 available to support local sporting clubs, community groups and organisations to deliver projects that benefit the community.
The program offers funding across a range of categories, including:
- Community Grants – up to $5,000
- Environmental Grants – up to $5,000
- Zsolt Telkesi Youth at Risk Grants – up to $5,000
- Event Grants – up to $5,000
- Community Hall Building Insurance Reimbursement – up to $2,000 (new)
This year introduces a new grant category that helps community-owned halls with the cost of building insurance, improving equity between community-owned and Council-owned facilities.
Mayor Wayne Thorley said the Grants Program continues to invest in the people and organisations that make the Murray Bridge region a vibrant place to live.
"Our volunteers and community groups do an incredible job delivering projects, events and services that benefit the whole community. These grants provide valuable support to help bring those ideas to life," Mayor Thorley said.
Council has also launched SmartyGrants, a new online grants platform designed to make applying for funding simpler, more accessible and easier to manage.
To help community members get started, Council will host two free information sessions on Tuesday, 6 August:
- 12.30 pm – Murraylands Skills Centre
- 6.00 pm – Murray Bridge Library
The September Grants Program is now open and applications close at 4.45 pm on Friday, 4 September 2026.
Previous grant recipients have included the All Abilities Music Group, Bridge Arts Inc, Murray Bridge Players and Singers, Rotary Club of Murray Bridge, and the University of the Third Age, supporting projects ranging from new equipment and workshops to community events and technology upgrades.
Community groups, clubs and organisations are encouraged to review the grant guidelines, attend an information session and explore the new SmartyGrants platform before submitting their application.
