Council is celebrating the International Day of People with Disabilities by shining a light on the remarkable personal achievements of individuals with disabilities and celebrating exceptional community initiatives that highlight equity and accessibility through its prestigious awards program.

Council extends an invitation for nominations in two distinct categories;

  1. Individual Achievement - dedicating a spotlight on individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary resilience, determination and advocacy; and
  2. Disability-Inclusive Business, Program, or Organisation - for an organisation that has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.

These awards, now in their 20th year, are an integral part of Council's celebration of the International Day of People with Disability, which will be announced at the official event to take place on Friday 1 December 2023 from 10 am - 1 pm at Sturt Reserve.

It will be an engaging day of festivities for attendees, including food and prizes, with Genuine Support Services proudly sponsoring the event. Further details will be available closer to the day.
