The SA Country Fire Service have declared the Fire Danger Season for the Murraylands region will commence on 1 November 2024, continuing through to 30 April 2025. During this period, strict fire restrictions will be enforced to protect lives, property and the environment.
The Rural City of Murray Bridge urges all residents and landowners to be bushfire ready, by ensuring properties are clear of flammable materials now and throughout the fire danger season.
Council encourages the community to take the time to read and familiarise themselves with Council’s Bushfire Management General Advice guide and take some time to create or review their 5 Minute Bushfire Plan (CFS).
“Being bushfire ready is everyone’s responsibility. A quick review of your Bushfire Plan can make all the difference in protecting your family and property”, Acting GM Community Development Deb Richardson says.
“We have some great resources for the Community, including a fortnightly green waste kerbside bin collection in the townships, regular free green waste drop off days at the Brinkley Waste and Recycling Facility, plus an annual free hard waste or tip pass from Council”
“It’s essential to stay informed and take proactive steps to safeguard our region. The Country Fire Service website clearly outlines everyone’s responsibilities during fire danger season. You can share and print out the CFS QR code poster to display at your home or workplace for easy access to updates. However if people have questions about burning permits or fire prevention that we can help with, we are always happy to chat.”
