Murray Bridge Domestic Violence Vigil

May is recognised as Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month, an annual campaign dedicated to raising community awareness about the personal and social impacts of domestic and family violence. The month also focuses on highlighting the support services available to individuals and families experiencing violence or abuse.

Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month aims to:

  • Increase community understanding of domestic and family violence and its impacts.
  • Promote a clear community message that domestic and family violence will not be tolerated.
  • Ensure those experiencing violence know how to access help, safety and support.
  • Encourage people who use abusive or violent behaviours to take responsibility and seek support to change.

Domestic Violence Vigil – Friday 1 May 2026

The Murray Bridge Regional Collaboration on Violence Against Women and Children invites community members, organisations and partners to attend the annual Domestic Violence Vigil.

The vigil is an important opportunity for our community to come together to honour and remember those who have lost their lives as a result of domestic and family violence. It also provides a moment to reflect on the ongoing work needed to create a safer, more respectful community for everyone.
