WELCOME to the new Rural City of Murray Bridge Chief Executive Officer Heather Barclay.

Following a highly contested and very rigorous selection process, involving all Elected Members, The Rural City of Murray Bridge Mayor Wayne Thorley is pleased to announce the appointment of our new Chief Executive Officer, Heather Barclay.

"Heather has over 30 years' experience and an impressive background as a senior leader in Local Government in both South Australia and Victoria," said Mayor Thorley.

"Importantly, five and a half of those years have been with this Council as the General Manager Assets & Infrastructure, where she has been pivotal in our growth planning and public realm revitalisation, making us stronger together.

"Heather's time in Murray Bridge means she already has strong connections in our community that will be continued - and this, together with her strong reputation for being a transformational leader, and her drive and passion for our growing partnership with the Council, will guide our focus on growth and economy in the coming years towards our vision of Thriving Communities."

Heather will officially commence in the role of Chief Executive Officer with The Rural City of Murray Bridge on Monday 17 July 2023, following a period of Acting in the position since Monday 15 May 2023.

"Along with the Elected members I look forward to working with Heather and in continuing to effectively deliver sustainable outcomes for our growing community," said Mayor Thorley.
