Murray Bridge Seniors Empowered to Plan Ahead for the 2026 Week of Ageing Well
The Rural City of Murray Bridge will host a free Advance Care Directive (ACD) information session on Tuesday, 6 October 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at the Local Government Centre.
The session follows Council’s recent announcement of its inaugural Active Ageing Strategy funding, and builds on Council's Community Wellbeing Strategy to ensure seniors can live actively, independently, and on their own terms as the region grows.
Held during South Australia’s Week of Ageing Well, the session aligns with the state theme, “Ageing Well: It’s About Time.” An ACD allows individuals to legally document their preferences for future healthcare, housing, and daily lifestyle choices, while appointing trusted substitute decision-makers. Completing the document ensures a person's choices are known and reduces future decision-making uncertainty for family members.
The workshop will provide step-by-step guidance through the standard South Australian forms. To register for the event, contact Debbie Burton on 8539 1116 or email d.burton@murraybridge.sa.gov.au. Attendance is free, but registrations are required.
