Artwork on Stobie Poles

Are you an individual, school or community group seeking to paint a stobie pole within the Rural City of Murray Bridge? This page describes the process and permissions required to undertake your project.

Contact Council

Forward an A4 coloured image of the proposed artwork, along with a map reference for the desired Stobie Pole location(s) as your submission to the Rural City of Murray Bridge

Your artwork should:

  • Be inoffensive and free of controversy including overly religious, political, violent or sexual themes.
  • Consider suitability in relation to the character of the surrounding environment
  • Not include business names or logos, advertising, local messages, directions or signage
  • Consider ease of installation and maintenance

Your neighbours and nearby property owners will need to support your proposed artwork. A letterbox drop with a letter of explanation including the artwork design and location of the proposed artwork. Ask for local feedback and organise an informal meeting to discuss your proposal.

You will be responsible for the on-going maintenance of your Stobie Pole art. Please consider what requirements you may need, including anti-graffiti coating, at the design stage.
