Position Vacant

The Rural City of Murray Bridge is seeking expressions of interest from persons who wish to be considered for the vacant position of Independent Member on the Strategic Planning & Development Policy Committee (SPDPC).

The role of the SPDPC is to develop strategic planning and development policy, strategic plans, Council policies, and initiate projects for the orderly and sustainable development for all areas of Council taking due regard of regional differences and community expectations.

The Committee consists of 6 members, three Independent Members and three Elected Members of Council, one of whom being appointed as Presiding Member of the Committee.

Meetings are held bi-monthly at the Local Government Centre, 2 Seventh Street, Murray Bridge and generally commence at 6:00pm on Wednesdays, although additional meetings may be required depending on the workload of the Committee at any given time. Interested persons should ideally possess experience in the planning and development industry and/or qualifications in one or more of the following fields - town planning, architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, environmental planning, community development or any other field that is relevant to the activities of the SPDPC.

The appointed Independent Members will receive a payment of $350 per meeting attended.
