NAIDOC Week celebrations are back after being postponed in July!

Recognising Australia’s First Nations people, learning about their connection to Country and healing, will be marked with a program of events for NAIDOC Week in Murray Bridge and surrounding towns.

The theme for 2021 ‘Heal Country!’ explores connection to Country and seeks greater protections for lands, waters, scared sites and cultural heritage from exploitation, desecration and destruction.

NAIDOC Week celebrations in Murray Bridge will begin with the annual Bridge Walk, starting on the east side of the Murray Bridge road bridge at 9.30am on Monday 20 September.

The walk will flow through to the Local Government Centre (2 Seventh Street, Murray Bridge) for the flag raising and NAIDOC Awards Ceremony at 9.45am.Story telling with local Elders will occur at the Library on Wednesday 22 September and a Colour Fun Run and Family Fun Day will be held on Tuesday 28 September, at Sturt Reserve.
