Native plants inviting native birds, insects and animals into local gardens and helping to save water, will be given out free to residents of The Rural City of Murray in April.
The Council will give away more than 3000 plants, of more than 30 different native species grown and nurtured by volunteers, at the Community Nursery, from 9am to 2pm on Sunday 28 April – while stocks last.
Choose from a wide variety of native trees, shrubs, ground covers and grasses that grow well in local conditions, many of which are drought tolerant and help to support the birds, insects, and animals that enrich our environment.
The following quantities will be available for each property:
* Up to 500m²= 5 plants
* 500m² and above= 10 plants
The Brinkley Reuse Centre will be host a market day in conjunction with the plant giveaway with a large variety of upcycled items on sale. Take a moment to look through the market with refreshments available to purchase at an onsite Coffee Van.
