Murray Bridge Discovery Trail

Understanding the area’s heritage is the first step in appreciating Murray Bridge.

The town is located in the lands belonging to the Ngarrindjeri people and their creation story is told in a stunning mosaic and mural at the local Visitor Information Centre which marks the start of the Murray Bridge Discovery Trail. This self-guided walking trail takes one and a half hours to complete and offers a great insight into the town’s history.

For those with lots of energy, explore the majestic river from the vantage point of a canoe. There are many places to stop and explore along the way as you paddle past Sturt Reserve, the wharf precinct and pass under the iconic twin bridges.

Walking the Kinchina Trail

Kinchina Trails

Adventure steps up a cog with an unforgettable trail experiences found at Kinchina Conservation Park, just a few kilometres outside of Murray Bridge with a choice of eight interconnected trails.
The trails are suitable for trail bike riding, bushwalking, bird watching or just walking the dog (on a leash please).
You can explore Kinchina Conservation Park year round. View the Rocky Gully Creek meandering through the park with its beautiful granite outcrops and in spring beautiful wildflowers.

Lavender Federation Trail

Start your trek along the Lavender Federation trail from the banks of Murray Bridge where the Sturt Reserve Trailhead designates the commencement of the 325km trail to Clare.
Strolling along tracks, country dirt roads or wander through fields of canola and green paddocks, you will find yourself immersed amongst spectacular countryside, in the company of kangaroos, sheep and cows. You may even spot a giraffe or rhino when you pass the Monarto Safari Park when traversing Rocky Gully.

Murray Park Trail

This beautiful park is home to many native plants, birds and animals that were once widespread in the region. They provided resources for the Ngarrindjeri people, who have been living here for thousands of years.
A  loop trail takes you around the circumference of the  park, with detours to see the cemetery.
* Moderate walk, flat terrain
* 20 min loop (0.8 km)
* Suitable for walking, dog walking (on a leash)
