THE SANTOS TOUR DOWN UNDER RETURNS TO MURRAY BRIDGE 2020

It has been eight years since the Tour Down Under last rolled into Murray Bridge.

Watch the race, join the community celebrations and experience the sheer beauty of the Murray River at three official Tour Down Under Events:

WOMEN’S RACE

PRE- AND POST-RACE EVENTS

WOMEN’S RACE
Friday 17 January
Free Community Breakfast
Race day begins early on Sixth Street with a free community BBQ breakfast before the women’s race begins. Fuel up on bacon, sausages and eggs ahead of a fun family day out with bands, street theatre, food stalls and more.

MEN’S RACE
Friday 24 January
Experience the electrifying atmosphere and celebrations before, during and after the men’s Stage 4 finish. Make it a day to remember with family and friends with food trucks, street entertainers, the Sixth Street Market and amusements for the kids.

WHERE TO WATCH THE ACTION

Take your position roadside at these locations and cheer on the World’s best professional cyclists.

JANUARY 17 WOMEN’S RACE
The road Bridge over the Murray River
Head out along the footpaths which run either side of the bridge and snap the perfect picture as the cyclists pass by.

RSL Bowling Club
The ideal advantage point to watch the women approach the rise on their bikes in neutral mode before racing begins.

Bridgeport Corner
This is where the women’s race officially starts and the excitement really kicks into gear.

JANUARY 24 MEN’S RACE

 Bridge Street
Right in the heart of the action! See the finish of the Stage 4 men’s race. Also watch the Challenge Tour riders and Tour Down Under Parade.

Bridgeport Bend
The corner of Railway Terrace and Bridge Street is the perfect spot to see the riders enter the home straight and race to the finish line.

Mannum Road – Piano Park
A great location to watch the Peloton ride by whilst enjoying a family picnic (Adjacent to Serenity Nursery).

Rocky Gully Wetlands
Enjoy the best of both worlds! Watch the race from the wetlands and walk the 2km looped trail, located off Mannum Road just outside the CBD.

Tip: Don’t miss a second of the men’s race action!
Watch the peloton wind its way through the Adelaide Hills on one of our three big screens before you find your spot to witness the thrilling finish.

From Adelaide
Murray Bridge is less than a one-hour drive from Adelaide along the South Eastern Freeway.

From the Fleurieu Peninsula
Weave your way through some of South Australia’s most spectacular scenery as you make your way to the South Eastern Freeway and onto Murray Bridge within an hour and a half.

Tip: Take your time and explore the Langhorne Creek wine region south east of Strathalbyn on your way to or from Murray Bridge.
