Congratulations to the Spring Garden Competition 2021 winners!
Nine spectacular gardens have been recognised this year.
Nominations were received from across our city, for a variety of category’s including for seniors garden, sustainable garden, small garden, large garden, community garden, school garden, and tropical garden.
The Gardens were judged on a variety of criteria including design and layout, plant selection, plant health and maintenance and water saving measures used.
The winners are:
Joint Winner Large Garden: Rob & Jan Smyth and John Harvie
Community Garden: Murraylands Retirement Village
Sustainable Garden: Ross & Sandra Schrapel
Seniors Garden: Margaret Cook
School Garden: Jervois Primary School
Small Garden: Melisa Wilson-Kramer
Outstanding Tropical Garden: Helen Phillips
Encouragement Award: Janice & Raymond Hutchinson
Mayor Brenton Lewis thanked all participants for being a part of the program, and said “Its been great to see such enthusiasm and passion for gardening and some amazing efforts in making the Rural City of Murray Bridge a more beautiful place”, he also thanked the volunteer judges and the Competition Major Sponsor, Tim James from Serenity Nursery.
The Rural City of Murray Bridge Spring Garden competition is an annual event.
Entries Close end of September each year
Judging will take place in early October.
Presentations will take place at an awards ceremony following the judging.
