Femininity can be overlooked easily. In an attempt to bring a voice to a minority, “BIMBO” tells the story of what it’s like being a woman experiencing life through songs of hope, lust, love, anger, and pain. “BIMBO” explores themes of feminism and female sexuality, what it’s like to be queer and have a sense of dread over not being so-called “pure”.

This is the collective story of womankind.

Monika Morgenstern: I Dwell In Possibility

Monika Morgenstern: I Dwell In Possibility

Visual Arts and Design

Venue: Vicki Nottage at Murray Bridge Regional Gallery

Dates: 10am (Sunday 11am), Friday 17 February – Sunday 19 March

Morgenstern explores phenomenology and how undefinable complex feelings can be experienced on a deeply personal and psychological level.

The language used by the many people whom the artist interviewed about their mystical experiences, carried tremendous power and emotion. Those words and quotes from diverse sacred texts and arresting poetry have informed these works, which also explore ectoplasm, a substance which is said to be formed by a medium in a state of trance, and that spiritual entities drape over their nonphysical bodies to interact in the present.

Perceiving that we are on the precipice of cataclysmic social and political change, Morgenstern makes work that addresses our need for a more enchanted universe at a time of enormous geopolitical and economic stresses.

Closure at a Self-Serve Checkout

Cabaret /Comedy

Venues: Murray Room at Bridgeport Hotel

Dates: 8pm , Thursday 2 March & Friday 3 March

Ever been ghosted by a Gemini? Burned by yet another boy with a mustache? Played the little-known game BitLife in a depressive state and wondered if it would make for a very niche joke in a comedy cabaret show?! Then this is the show for you! (...maybe a little too much so? That was pretty specific.)

Closure at a Self-Serve Checkout’ is a ridiculous, raucous, and some may say chaotic one-woman comedy cabaret. A collection of stand-up monologues and witty songs performed by Bobbie and her piano, this is a show about taking our depressed and broken hearts of the past and finding ways to move on, and most importantly, laugh about it altogether.

So come along and enjoy some chaotic catharsis by laughing at some silly little songs about our silly little lives.

Redneck Greenie – Confessions of an Ozymoron

Redneck Greenie – Confessions of an Ozymoron

Theatre and Physical Theatre/ Comedy

Venues: Murray Room at Bridgeport Hotel

Dates: 6.30pm, Friday 24 February

Redneck Greenie straddles the genres of stand-up comedy, impro, story-telling, satire and physical theatre. It's Brechtian Cabaret, Aussie style.

This show hilariously smashes together two diametrically opposed social viewpoints. Two rival personalities fight it out as one bloke navigates his inner conflict in outrageous and poignantly funny ways. This is a true blue, red and green yarn of Aussie dumb. Several yarns, in fact.

Audience choose from over 80 stories like: Fear in Tangier; Imagineer Candy Man; Croc Crossing; The Dumbest Thing; A*sehole Angel; Clown Cops and Fringe Criminals. Every show is different. Playing live original songs, farmboy, actor, comedian and NT Greens candidate Robbie Hoad masterfully weaves fantastically ridiculous true tales. He’s done all the dumb things!
