Sturt Reserve

In accordance with National Cabinet requirements due to the COVID-19 Pandemic all Outdoor Gyms are CLOSED until further notice – this includes outdoor gyms at Sturt Reserve, Christian Reserve and Homburg Park.

All playgrounds are closed and boot camps are reduced to two persons, including the trainer.

Undoubtedly the jewel in the crown of Murray Bridge, Sturt Reserve is a mecca for outdoor pleasure and fun for local and international visitors alike.

This breathtaking reserve is located on the banks of the mighty Murray River, downstream from the first bridge to span the major waterway.

This wide open riverside playground is the perfect place to soak up the gorgeous Mediterranean climate - and a tip from the locals: it’s always a few degrees cooler by the river so if you’re looking to cool down pop your shoes off, dangle your toes in the water and relax.

Sturt Reserve is the venue for the Murray River Splash Festival held each year throughout the month of January.

Families can play on the foreshore, tackle the giant inflatable Slip ‘N’ Dip obstacle course on the water, and enjoy picnics together on the lush green lawns or take pleasure in preparation free feasting from the food trucks.

Sturt Reserve features a children’s playground, skate park, lawn tennis courts, community club, dining, jetties and is a haven for local wildlife.

Popular water sports including swimming, rowing, boating, water skiing, wakeboarding and fishing. The reserve is houseboat friendly and mooring sites are available.

Visit the iconic Murray Bridge Bunyip if you dare! She can be found lurking in her cave on the banks of the Murray River at Sturt Reserve, where she has been scaring the daylights out of children since 1972.
