The Murray River Splash Festival is returning to Murray Bridge this summer!


A family friendly New Year’s Eve event will kick start festivities at Sturt Reserve with fun activities to follow, culminating in Australia Day celebrations on Friday 26 January 2021. Follow the event to stay up to date here

NOTE: In accordance with current emergency directions all activities will have a COVID Safe plan in place - including COVID Marshals, cleaning, food safety handling, monitoring attendance numbers and appropriate signage. Safety will be prioritized.

New Year’s Eve Celebrations

**UPDATE 30/12/20: The event site for Murray Bridge NYE is now SOLD OUT however you can still watch the fireworks which are scheduled for 9:45pm from many vantage points along the River Murray including the Wharf Area, the Southern end of Sturt Reserve, the entire eastern side of the riverbank or from Hume Reserve.**

Murray Bridge New Year’s Eve event is an event that caters for a family audience to celebrate New Year’s Eve.

The event is conducted from 5pm to 10pm with the culmination being the fireworks display that is launched from our iconic Bridge at 9.45pm.

The event features a series of activities for children that includes the giant hamster ball, laser tag, glitter tattoos, inflatable water slide and bubble entertainment.

Enjoy live music from local entertainers.

Food trucks will also be onsite.

Because of COVID restrictions this event will be fenced and ticketed (free). Book here

Sturt Reserve is a dry zone so no alcohol is allowed.

Arts in the Park

Wire Figures craft sessions:

30 min sessions available, 10am – 12.30pm . limit of 10 per session
Making simple wire animals and people mounted on wooden discs. Then wrapping with wool or raffia.
We supply prepped wooden discs wire, tools, wool, raffia etc
Suitable for kids from 7 years or younger working with parents.

Fish Hat craft sessions:

30 min sessions available, 1pm – 3.30pm . limit of 10 per session
Make your own fish, crab, octopus or swan hat cut out cardboard from templates and decorate.
We supply cardboard, scissors, punches, glue & decorations.
Suitable for 7 and up or younger with parent assistance.

Bubble City

A safe crawl/walk explore experience for young children where 3 fans create a cool breeze vortex in the three pods that swirl streamers and balloons.

Children often go through the inflatable in 3-5min, and may come back and do it again depending on demand. A blackboard system is used to limit numbers to approx. 10 children at a time.

The inflatable is a crawl, stand space so parents don’t go in. They can follow their children from outside observing through clear windows.

Calligraphy Workshop

Chinese calligraphy is the writing of Chinese characters as an art form. It combines purely visual art and interpretation of the literary meaning.
This type of art has been widely practiced in China and held in high esteem across East Asia.

Bao Luo is a Chinese migrant and a Chinese calligraphy lover. Through this workshop, Bao will introduce the Chinese calligraphy culture including the calligraphy tools (the Four Treasures of Study), different types of scripts and more.
Participants can practically create their own calligraphy art piece in the workshop and take it home as a wall decoration.

Supervised circus equipment and tuition for Adults and kids. Take a challenge with juggling, diabolo, poi, staff twirling, tight rope, rola bola, skipping, stick balance, hand held stilts. Human pyramids.

Come and Try Dragon Boats

Dragon boating is a fantastic team sport for all abilities and fitness levels.

Whether you want to get fit, participate in a competitive sport or are just looking for a fun and social activity – give dragon boating a go – you will thoroughly enjoy it.

The standard crew comprises 20 paddlers, 1 drummer and 1 sweep.

Minimum age to participate is 12 years.

Fun paddling session conducted by fully accredited Paddle SA instructors suitable for people of all ages and paddling ability.
Beginners welcome, suitable for children over 4 years. Children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult (may be in a separate kayak in the group).

Come and Try Kayaking with Canoe the Coorong

Join in and have some fun on the river with qualified guides from Canoe the Coorong!
Each 1.5 hour session starts with safety lessons followed by exploring on the mighty Murray River with games and fun activities.

Each session includes 2 qualified guides and double kayaks with a maximum of 16 participants per group.
Suitable for participants aged 5yrs+
Children aged 5yrs to 14 yrs must be accompanied by one Adult per Child.

Come and Try Rowing

21 – 24 January 2021

Sessions: 10.00am - 11.00am & 11.30am - 12.30pm daily

Come and try rowing in non-powered row boats in crews.

Each boat will be instructed by 1 coach and the boats will be tethered to the riverbank so they do not drift down the river.
The duration of each session will depend on the age and experience of the participants but no longer than 1 hour per session.
Please meet in front of the Murray Bridge Regional Rowing Facility.

Eco Maze

The Eco Maze is a guided environmental education experience. Learn the importance of eco systems and interaction with nature.

Handmade inflatable mazes featuring animals, insects and plants. Each maze designed for a particular theme – the River Murray Dome, Giant Flowers & Plants, Outstanding Australian AnimaMazes can be zipped together creating a multi-textured, exotically coloured, imaginative exploratory journey.

Water Wars

Ultimate Water Wars is wild water fun!

Let the kids run riot armed with water pistols, water bombs, slip-n-slides, loads of games and of course LOADS OF WATER.
We will lead the kids through a series of fun water sport challenges designed to get them drenched and laughing.
To finish off the session each kid is equipped with the Water Tag vests and armed with Stream Machine water guns for some serious summer fun shooting games!

At Wildlife SA our mission is rescuing and rehabilitating sick, injured and orphaned Native Wildlife, and where possible returning them back to their homes in the wild.

Wildlife SA is a not for profit charity and does not receive any financial help from the government or other groups.
