CLEVERMAN: A Superhero for the past, present and future Murray Bridge Regional Gallery FREE exhibition until Sunday 30 January 2021

A superhero for the past, present and future.

The Cleverman exhibition invites you to listen-first and immerse yourself in a powerful and contemporary expression of origin stories.

Go behind the scenes of the groundbreaking sci-fi series that stormed onto ABC TV in 2016 as a dystopian sci-fi with a difference. With predominantly Indigenous cast and senior crew, the series explores a series of Aboriginal origin stories in a contemporary context, with political nuance touching on themes of class, racism and power.

Explore the making of Cleverman, through First Nations storytelling, language and creativity in production design, costumes and props, including designs by Weta Workshop and artwork from the original comic book series.

Quote from ACMI Director & CEO Katrina Sedgwick OAM

“Over the past decade, ACMI has been curating and touring exhibitions across Australia that celebrate extraordinary Australian screen practice and practitioners. The groundbreaking series Cleverman presents Dreaming stories in a stunningly designed sci-fi near-future, laced with political themes that ring true today. We jumped at the opportunity to collaborate with series creator Ryan Griffen to create an exhibition that takes people behind-the scenes to explore the storytelling and superb screen craft that delivered this remarkable Indigenous Australian TV series.”
