Position Overview
An exciting opportunity has just become available in the Office of the CEO. We are looking for a Customer Liaison Officer who will be vital in providing support to the Executive Assistant to the Office of the CEO and the Manager Governance in the fulfilment of supporting relationships and communications with all staff, Council Members and our Community.
The Customer Liaison Officer plays a key role in acting as a key point of contact in establishing and developing relationships with key stakeholders, members of the community and key organisations while also supporting the Executive and Council Members in their governance responsibilities. Working in a small team your communication skills and ability to provide support, advice and customer service expertise will be an important contribution to the overall success of the Organisation.
Your responsibilities would also include contributing to the maintenance and continuous improvement of the governance functions and supporting the Executive Assistant to the Office of the CEO in providing administration support and collaborating with various departments to streamline and maintain the consistent flow information.
The role will suit someone who can think on their feet and work as part of a team, collaborating effortlessly with colleagues in search of innovative solutions for the organisation. The suitable candidate would also be strong in developing relationships with Council Members and key community Stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate III or above in Business Administration or other relevant area (desirable)
- Experience in a secretarial and administrative support role.
- Experience in providing high levels of customer service.
The preferred candidate would have an understanding of standard administrative and record keeping practices and an understanding of Local Governments role in providing services to its constituents.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Executive Assistant to the office of the CEO, responsibilities will include:
- Arranging, prioritising and diarising meetings and appointments.
- Undertaking initial telephone enquiries, resolving customer enquiries where appropriate and within agreed parameters.
- Reviewing incoming correspondence/emails, prioritising and controlling the workflow of documents between the CEO, General Managers and other business units and monitor and follow up status reports on actions.
- File maintenance and records management of incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Preparing credit card reconciliations and reimbursements.
- Participate in the coordination of staff meetings including sourcing and preparation of related information.
- Coordinate and monitor timely responses to Members of Parliament and Council Members.
- Assist the development of media publications and speeches on behalf of the Office of the CEO.
- Act as the first point of contact for a range of queries and internal approvals required from the Council Members, General Managers and Managers.
- Develop, foster and maintain effective networks and key stakeholder relationships both internally and externally to the organisation.
- Liaise with the Mayor, Council Members and internal/external customers regarding meetings and other matters.
- Undertake research and gathering of information relating to departmental programs and projects.
- Website management as required.

The position is offered as a 0.8FTE or full time role (to be negotiated) in accordance with the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers Award and Council’s current Enterprise Agreement within an annual salary range of $77,151 - $85,400 dependent upon demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience.
