Draft Annual Business Plan and Budget 2017-18

The Mayor and Councillors of the Rural City of Murray Bridge are pleased to present their draft Annual Business Plan and Budget for the 2017-18 financial year.

The draft Annual Business Plan responds to the RCMB Community Plan 2016-2032 and the RCMB Strategic Plan 2016-2020 and continues our progress in delivering the visionof Thriving Communities whilst ensuring an operating surplus.

The Annual Business Plan and Budget for 2017-18 details how Council plans to fund programs, projects and services responsive to our community’s aspirations.

It includes funding for:

  • an extensive road and footpath construction program;
  • continuing the beautification of our town entrances;
  • further work on the river front and access to the river;
  • creating a lighting feature on the Bridge;
  • an exciting events program including the 2018 Masters Games to attract visitors;
  • development of our play spaces; and,
  • further improvements to our engagement with the community

This is being achieved with a modest 2.5% increase in rates.

The Plan reflects our commitment to strong financial management and establishes a framework and resources for engaging and communicating with the community.

To ensure we are reflecting community aspirations, we encourage members of our community to read the document and to provide feedback to us by 30 May 2017.  Copies can be downloaded from Council’s website www.murraybridge.sa.gov.au, or viewed at the Local Government Centre and Murray Bridge Library.

We will also be hosting a Special Council Meeting on Monday 29 May, 2017 at 5.30 pm to allow members of the community to provide feedback to us on the Plan.  The meeting will be held at the Council Chambers, Local Government Centre, 2 Seventh Street, Murray Bridge.
