Physical Activity


We all need regular physical activity for good physical and mental health, no matter what age we are. It is recommended that adults include at least 30 minutes or more of moderate-intensity physical activity on most, if not all days of the week. Kids need to do a minimum of 60 minutes of physical activity every day. But remember, more is better – even up to several hours! This can be built up throughout the day with a combination of moderate to vigorous activities.

Heart Foundation Walking Groups

Heart Foundation Walking is a fun, social and easy way to be active and best of all it's FREE! It is Australia’s largest network of community-based walking groups with over 19,000 active members. Groups are led by volunteer Walk Organisers and we have new groups starting every week.

Joining or starting a walking group in your area is a great way to get active and meet new people.
You can join a local group by contacting the walk organiser. If no groups are available, you might like to start your own walking group.

Strength for Life

The Strength for Life program promotes health and well-being amongst people over 50 through strength training programs run by accredited fitness providers.

The program encourages older South Australians to attend strength training sessions by promoting the benefits of strength training to people over 50.

The program aims to increase access to strength training programs for people 50 years and over by training and endorsing fitness providers to run sessions throughout South Australia.

Murray Bridge Classes

Meet at 9.30-10.30am on Tuesdays & Thursdays at the Murray Bridge Soccer Clubrooms, Beatty Terrace, Murray Bridge. 

Cost is $3 per session or $50 for 10 weeks (20 x sessions)

Murraylands Heartmoves was launched on Friday 5th October 2012, at the Full Steam Ahead! Community Expo.

Heartmoves is the perfect program for any adult wanting to get back into physical activity. The first Heartmoves program will take place in Murray Bridge.

Murray Bridge Heartmoves

Meets 4pm-5pm Tuesdays & Thursdays at the Murray Bridge Soccer Clubrooms, Beatty Terrace, Murray Bridge.
