Mayoral Message

Welcome to the Rural City of Murray Bridge which is on traditional Ngarrindjeri land and situated in the Region of Opportunity.

Murray Bridge is the regional centre of the Murraylands (servicing an area of over 30,000 square kilometres and extending to the Victoria border).

The Murraylands offers an ideal opportunity for businesses and industrial development for the following reasons.

        * Close proximity to markets,

        * World class transport routes including access to the south eastern freeway, rail and strategic freight routes,

        * Availability of key industrial commercial land at reasonable prices, for example, at Monarto,

            Murray Bridge and other towns within the region,

                            * Access to a reliable and trained workforce.

 Murray Bridge continues to experience strong economic growth. It is a growing, vibrant community that is expected to increase its population by 30% over the next ten years.

Murray Bridge has a burgeoning tourist and houseboat industry centred around the River Murray and is the closest regional town on the River Murray to Adelaide. It is the gateway to Adelaide from the eastern states and also the gateway to the Coorong.

Our river is a major tourist attraction - from water sports such as skiing, sailing, powered boats and rowing to the many houseboats that navigate the waterways. All Australians need to ensure the river remains viable to support these pastimes and our industries that rely on the river for their survival.

The Rural City of Murray Bridge is a great place to live and work.

Please enjoy your stay and enjoy our lifestyle.
