Volunteers play a vital and valuable role in the provision of services to the Rural City of Murray Bridge. Volunteers comprise of a diverse range of people with varied backgrounds who assist the Council for the benefit of the Rural City of Murray Bridge and its community.

There is a range of volunteering opportunities available through the Rural City of Murray Bridge:
Guiding visitors through the vast collection of artefacts from the region and beyond. Assisting in upkeep of grounds and gardens.
Providing transport, shopping, social support for older people and their carers and younger people with moderate to severe disability.
Assist with crime prevention activities and programs. Actively removing graffiti throughout the Council area.
A range of activities including planting, weed eradication, watering and care for some of our parks, reserves, wetlands etc.
Opportunities exist in an ongoing and diverse range of community projects and events.
Assist with management, booking and overseeing of community facility. These facilities include: Monarto War Memorial Hall, Mypolonga Institute, Woods Point Community Hall
Volunteers support and enhance the services of the Lerwin Nursing Home through assistance with the lifestyle programs for the residents. A volunteer can enrich the life of residents in many ways; by encouraging and supporting residents during activities, through activities and one on one programs, providing support to residents to maximise independence and maintain friendships.
Assist in the Murray Bridge Public Library with day to day library activities including the Toy Library operations.
Assist with welcoming visitors to our region and attend to their enquiries. Promote tourism and provide literature and information on places of interest, tours accommodation and attractions.
Assist in hosting regular exhibitions and community events within our Gallery, also assist with retail and sales.
Provide front of house support for special functions and events. Also assist with administrative duties and technical support (lighting, sound etc.).
Guiding visitors through and assisting in the upkeep of Murray Bridge’s most attractive and unique historical building and gardens.
Being involved in youth events and sharing ideas opinions and issues relevant to young people in the Rural City of Murray Bridge.
Volunteering can be a fun way of meeting new people in a friendly and supportive environment, an opportunity to gain new skills, experiences, development opportunities and strengthening links within the Rural City of Murray Bridge region.
