The Rural City of Murray Bridge in partnership with OPAL is in the process of constructing Murray Bridge’s first Nature Playspace at War Memorial Park. This park is located on the corner of Mannum Road and Third Street, across the road from Diamond Park.
This park was born out of the ideas of local people. Working together with WAX Design, these ideas from the local community have been brought together and made into a design for an amazing nature playspace for all to enjoy.
This project has been funded by the Rural City of Murray Bridge with Adelaide Innovative Landscaping in the process of building this playspace and bringing the community’s ideas to life. The project is due for completion at the end of June 2016.
War Memorial Park Nature Playspace will be a great place for families to explore and enjoy. Amongst the winding paths, mounds of grass, water, sand, trees, dirt and rocks, the Nature Playspace will feature a custom made swinging rope bridge, a one of a kind timber and rope climbing frame, a basket swing for the whole family to enjoy, a slide built right into the side of a climbing mound, musical bongos and a water play area where kids can enjoy creating their very own changing creek.
This amazing playspace will also have community garden with raised garden beds for everyone to come and pick and enjoy, as well as an orchard of citrus trees.
War Memorial Park will be a place for everyone to enjoy, explore, have fun and be creative. The only ‘rules’ are to have fun, care for yourself, each other and the space.
Stay tuned for regular updates.
