Food Stalls

Many events involving the sale or supply of food occur throughout the community during the year. These include community fundraisers, school fetes, sausage sizzles, weekend markets, festivals and concerts.

All organisations that sell or handle food for sale are defined as a food business and must notify the Rural City of Murray Bridge. This includes food sold for fundraising or charitable events. This can be done by filling out the Temporary Food Premises application and returning it to the Local Council.

Some guidelines to consider when organising your temporary food stall include:

  • Hand washing facilities
  • Safe food storage
  • Cooking and heating facilities
  • Food packaging and labelling
  • Waste management and disposal
  • Sufficient water supply
